The SSG Landers apologized for the disrespectful behavior of its second-team players.

The KBO held a punishment committee at the Korea Baseball Hall in Dogok-dong, Seoul on the afternoon of the 19th and deliberated on Lee Won-jun, who SSG requested a waiver on the 13th, and current SSG players Lee Igi-yeon and Choi Sang-min.

Lee Won-jun, Lee Yi-yeon, and Choi Choi-min committed abusive behavior toward some players during a training break at SSG Futures Field in Ganghwa, Incheon, on June 6. Among them, Lee Won-jun additionally assaulted a player’s thigh with a baseball bat twice.

SSG became aware of the incident on the 7th and immediately requested a report and investigation from the KBO Clean Baseball Center. The organization then held its own disciplinary committee and decided to suspend Lee.메이저사이트

The KBO Punishment Committee decided to suspend Lee Won-jun for 72 games based on Article 151 of the KBO Baseball Code, “Impairment of Dignity,” for his harsh behavior and assault, and 30 games each for Lee Geo-yeon and Choi Sang-min for their harsh behavior.

The KBO Punishment Committee issued a warning to SSG. It was considered that the team reported the incident to the KBO Clean Baseball Center immediately after becoming aware of it and actively cooperated with follow-up measures.

After the KBO Penalty Committee’s decision was announced, SSG said, “We sincerely apologize for causing great disappointment to the fans who love professional baseball due to the disrespectful behavior of some of our players,” adding, “We will make every effort to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.”

First, we sincerely apologize for the great disappointment caused to the fans who love professional baseball due to the disrespectful behavior of some players.

SSG Landers humbly accepts the results of the KBO Punishment Committee announced today and will make every effort to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

At this point, the club will accurately diagnose the level of awareness and behavior of all players in the first and second teams regarding dignity-impaired behavior, and review the overall management and operation of the team, including how the team has been educated and inspected, and how the team’s accommodation is operated.

Based on this, we will strengthen regulations and systems to ensure that the standards and awareness of dignity-damaging behaviors of the entire first and second teams, including coaching staff, are in line with social standards.

In particular, we will establish the ‘Pledge to Eradicate Dishonorable Behavior’ system, which players will sign at the time of signing their contracts every year, as an opportunity to renew their mindset toward the system.

We will conduct monthly training and reality checks for the second team, and strengthen the reporting process.

In addition, we will operate the squad’s own communication meetings as a pre-reporting system to ensure that the purpose, location, and time of the meeting are not violated.

Once again, we sincerely apologize to our fans, and we will learn from this incident and strive to grow into an SSG Landers that is loved by our fans even more.
