Song Young-gil, a former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea who returned from Paris, France, in April due to the “2021 National Convention Money Envelope Suspicion,” has called for a prosecution investigation against him.
“It’s been a month and a half since I returned from Paris, and the prosecutors haven’t even summoned me,” Song wrote on his Facebook profile on April 3,안전놀이터 after changing his picture to a photo of the Unification Observatory in Goseong, Gangwon Province. “With a desire to run along the East Sea line, past Wonsan Cheongjin, to Vladivostok,” he added.
He is accused of handing envelopes of money to lawmakers and the chairman of the party’s National Committee ahead of the Democratic National Convention in May 2021. After returning home from Paris on April 24 following the allegations, Song voluntarily appeared before prosecutors on May 2, saying, “Detain me, not my surroundings,” but prosecutors sent him back without scheduling an investigation.
