Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has suffered an injury setback.

Trout was batting second and playing center field against the San Diego Padres on Thursday (April 4) at Petco Park in San Diego, Calif. He went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and an RBI, but left the game after complaining of left wrist pain.

Trout led off the eighth inning and took a two-pitch, 80.8 mph curveball from right-hander Nick Martinez. The pitch sailed into the stands and was fouled off. The next pitch was a problem. As Trout stepped into the batter’s box, he felt pain in his wrist and immediately signaled to the dugout that he couldn’t play. Trout was replaced by Mickey Moniak.안전놀이터

MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, also highlighted Trout’s injury issues. “Things got worse for the Angels against San Diego. Superstar Trout left the game with a left wrist injury.

Angels manager Phil Nevin also expressed concern about Trout’s condition, saying, “Trout will get an X-ray.”

In 81 games this season, Trout is batting .263 (80-for-304) with 18 home runs, a .493 on-base percentage, and a .862 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage). In his last game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 3, he went 1-for-4 with a double, a home run and one RBI.

MLB.com writes, “The 11-time All-Star has been on fire at the plate. If he goes down (with an injury), it will be a big blow. In his last 15 games, Trout has four home runs, three doubles, seven RBIs and is batting .333 with a .438 on-base percentage and a .648 slugging percentage,” said MLB.com, noting that the loss of Trout would be devastating for the Angels.

‘Trout hadn’t missed any time this season due to injury before getting hurt in San Diego. He’s been in a hitting slump, but he’s been working on his mechanics since mid-June, and he’s looking more like his old self,” he said, adding that he was saddened by Trout’s injury.

While we don’t yet know the exact results of the tests, Trout has a history of wrist injuries. If Trout goes down, the Angels’ batting lineup will take a huge hit.
