The Korean Basketball League (KBL) issued a warning to Goyang Carrot, who caused the problem of non-payment of membership fees.토토사이트

KBL held the 28th 3rd extraordinary general meeting on the 16th, and if Carrot fails to pay the remaining 1 billion won in special dues (subscription fee) by March 31, the 2022-2023 SKT Adot Pro Basketball Playoffs will be played. We reconfirmed that it was not allowed.”

Carrot has recently been in a difficult situation due to financial difficulties of its parent company, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering & Construction. Last year, the union of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and Construction submitted a corporate rehabilitation procedure to the Seoul Rehabilitation Court, and the Seoul Rehabilitation Court also accepted it on the 6th and made a decision to initiate the rehabilitation procedure.

Running a basketball team is naturally becoming more difficult. At the time of the acquisition, approval was suspended due to poor funding plans submitted to KBL, and in October of last year, the league was in danger of being canceled due to failure to meet the deadline for the first payment of subscription fees.

Recently, even the salaries of the players have been delayed, and negotiations are underway to find a new parent company in less than a year after the acquisition.

Carrot once again expressed his position that he would faithfully fulfill his obligations as a member, saying, “I will pay the special membership fee within the deadline.”

KBL said, “If Carrot finishes in the 6th place in the regular league, the next lower team instead of Carrot will move up the ranking one step and go to the playoffs in the round of 6. The 7th place team will be assigned the 6th seed and go to the playoffs.”

Meanwhile, at the extraordinary general meeting, KBL approved the change of owners of three clubs: Wonju DB President Jung Jong-pyo, Seoul Samsung CEO Kim Jong-hyun, and Daegu Korea Gas Corporation President Choi Yeon-hye. Anyang KGC executive director Lee Jong-rim’s change of general manager was also approved.
