The 105th National Sports Festival in 2024 will be held in Gimhae, Gyeongnam. The 105th National Sports Festival will be held in 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam Province, centered on Gimhae.
Gimhae City is accelerating preparations for the competition with the following major concepts in mind: △a happy sports festival that everyone can enjoy with hope, △a communication and unity exhibition created through citizen participation, △an eco-friendly sports festival that leads carbon neutrality, and △a cultural festival that combines sports and culture.
Gimhae City is building a new Gimhae Sports Complex in Gusan-dong for the 2024 National Sports Festival. The new Gimhae Sports Complex is being built with 5 underground floors and 3 above-ground floors, a total floor area of 68,370㎡, and a capacity to accommodate 15,066 spectators. Construction of Gimhae Sports Complex is in full swing with the goal of completion at the end of April next year.
Gimhae City becomes the fourth city in Gyeongnam to host the National Sports Festival, following Masan City in 1982, Changwon City in 1997, and Jinju City in 2010. Gimhae City is setting a goal to strengthen its status as a sports city by hosting large-scale comprehensive sports competitions with the 105th National Sports Festival as an opportunity.안전놀이터
The sports fever that has heated up in Gimhae City will continue to Busan in 2025. Busan is hosting the National Sports Festival again for the first time in 25 years since it was held in 2000.
Busan has hosted the National Sports Festival six times, starting in 1957, 1963, 1973, 1976, 1986, and 2000.
Busan City and the Busan City Sports Council are making every effort to prepare to promote the reputation of Busan as a ‘Sports City’ at the 106th National Sports Festival, which will be held in Busan for the first time in 25 years. The city and the Sports Association are making preparations step by step, including inspecting and reviewing stadium facilities in and outside Busan where games of 49 sports will be held.
It’s not just about building facilities. The city and the Sports Council are planning to use the National Sports Festival as an opportunity to explore and pursue various ways to grow Busan sports to the next level.
